Hohenstein-BD intend to implement an inventory management system for its laboratory efficiently with an automated software system for maintaining laboratory items from receive to end usages i.e. used in consumption. The proposed system will be able to manage and track all laboratory store items to the point of receive to use in production, transfer to other store, provision receive, return etc. The basic features include:

  • Consignment information
  • Item list with unit of measurement (Primary/Secondary unit)
  • Lot management
  • Management of per Unit Purchase Cost
  • ssue again Requisition (Job no. wise)
  • Store Ledger functionality
  • Monthly transaction reports
  • Forecasting of Re-order level calculation/alert option

Technology used:

The proposed system will be a web based portal to be hosted in a Hohenstein-BD internal/Cloud server and accessed by users with active internet connection. Following technologies were used to develop the portal –

  • Hosting: Linux Server
  • Design: PHP web pages
  • Front end compatible browser, i.e., FireFox, Opera, Google Chrome, Safari etc.
  • Back End: MySQL
  • User Management: Joomla 3.5
  • Other Tools: AJAX, JSON, JavaScript & web mapping controls

Hohenstein Institute Bangladesh has intended to implement an inventory management system for its laboratory to run the day to day operation efficiently. SoftWorks received the contract to develop the Laboratory Inventory Management System (LIMS), which will cover all stock functions like - Receive, Requisition, Issue & Adjustment. Though these functions stock position of commodities at different sites can be monitored from a single web-based portal.
